#USAID #UTD is a 5-year Program that connects public and private sectors to co-address the political, social, and economic barriers to the integration of ethnic and religious minorities in Georgia. The Program is implemented by UNA Georgia together with partner organizations, with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The Program works to increase minority inclusion in policymaking, expand mutually beneficial social, civic, and economic linkages between minority and majority populations, reduce the barriers to civic and economic integration, and by doing so – to strengthen Georgia’s societal resilience. The Program seeks to contribute to broadening and solidifying Georgia’s national identity, and to celebrating its unity through diversity. Partners - Georgia`s role within #UTD is related to the provision of the training and consulting services tailored to the needs of the various program stakeholders; particular attention is paid to preparing young program beneficiaries for future work careers.
Within the #EU-funded project, together with the Open Society Georgia Foundation #OSGF and the United Nations Association of Georgia #UNAG we worked with VET teachers and administration to increase the effectiveness of teaching and learning process through the improved communication with students, intensive use of various interactive learning methodologies and introduction of new technologies in distant learning. In addition, we worked with the young beneficiaries of the project to increase their workplace readiness.
The three-year program aimed to enhance the resilience of civil society organizations amidst the challenges posed by shrinking civil space. Together with our Slovak colleagues (Partners for Democratic Change Slovakia #PDCS) and using the innovative methodology developed by #PartnersGlobal (#Resiliency+ Framework), we guided six Georgian CSOs through a facilitated process, enabling them to identify the external threats and internal vulnerabilities impeding them from implementing resilient operations.
For 6 years, we have been involved in the #USAID #PITA program, implemented by the United Nations Association of Georgia #UNAG together with partner organizations. The program’s overarching goal was to unite diverse stakeholders in creating a more informed, inclusive, and tolerant society. Our role assumed youth capacity building, promotion of youth networking, and most importantly, preparing young people for employment by imparting specialized work skills and essential social competencies.
In cooperation with Civil Society Support and National Integration programs of the Open Society Foundation, we worked to strengthen capacity and support institutional development of organizations and civic leaders working on Ethnic Minorities issues. Throughout a series of comprehensive trainings and consultations, we have successfully trained over 40 representatives from 25 organizations.
In frames of the #USAID-funded, #GPAC program implemented by East-West Management Institute #EWMI and partner organizations, we worked on advocacy capacity development of both grassroot and advanced CSOs and think-tank organizations located in Tbilisi and regions of Georgia.
Within the Advanced National Integration [ANI] Program funded by the #USAID, together with the United Nations Association of Georgia #UNAG and other partner organizations of the program, we continued to work on civil integration and diversity issues; in particular, Center trainers designed and implemented various relevant trainings programs, prepared reading materials, and helped to organize and conduct summer camps for young leaders.
With the financial support of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs #PolishAid, and in cooperation with our Polish partners #PartnersPolska and the Warsaw Copernicus Center #CentrumNaukiKopernik, we helped natural sciences’ teachers of Shida Kartli public schools to improve their teaching methodology and make their lessons more attractive and motivating for students.
With funding from #PolishAid and in cooperation with Partners Polska Center #PartnersPolska we launched the project in Shida Kartli region affected by the August 2008 war. Project aimed to build the capacity of Gori, Nikosi and Variani CSOs whose working priorities included the activation of women leaders and IDPs and improvement of their economic situation.
4-year partnership within the #USAID #FORECAST program allowed us to enrich our methodology toolbox with integrated #HICD (Human and Institutional Capacity Development) approach. Together with other program partners, we applied #HICD to optimize working processes at Tbilisi State University #TSU, Municipal Services Development Agency #MSDA, National Center for Disease Control #NCDC, Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation, and Refugees of Georgia #MRA and other public institutions.
During the three-year cooperation with #BP we strengthened proposal writing, teamwork and conflict management skills of Boards of Trustees in 89 public schools located along the Baku-Supsa pipeline.
In frames of the #USAID-funded four-year #NITG program, together with United Nations Association of Georgia #UNAG we started to actively work on promotion of diversity management and national integration by providing the capacity-building training and consultation support to all target groups of the program.
With grant funding received from #EU, in cooperation with Caucasian Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development #CIPDD we tested the deliberative democracy / public forums methodology in Georgia and involved regular citizens in deliberation on three various ways to fight the corruption.
Together with #SavetheChildren as lead, and several Georgian CSOs as implementing partners, we joined the #USAID-funded three-year Citizens’ Advocate Program, in frames of which we intensively worked with CSOs, CBOs and their coalitions in Georgia to build their capacity and to improve their advocacy and cooperation / networking skills.
With financial support from US State Department and Partners for Democratic Change International #PDCI, we worked with young women of South Caucasus region to empower them as leaders, as well as to build and improve their organizational management skills.
With financial support from #USIA and Partners for Democratic Change International #PDCI, and in frames of the two-year program we worked with Georgian, Armenian and Azeri women to develop their leadership and trainer skills and promote their networking.
